The Pad Yatra and Bike Rally, which was flagged off yesterday from Jammu to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, reached Srinagar today, where the participants received a grand and heartfelt welcome at Hokersar, HMT.
A group of 26 female bikers from Shakti Udghosh Foundation are participating in this inspiring rally to honour the valour of the Indian Army during Operation Vijay (1999) and to raise awareness about Operation Sindoor, launched in May this year.
The rally was welcomed with flower showers, a symbolic plantation drive (where each tree was planted in the name ek ped maan ke naam), and a Swachh Bharat cleanliness campaign, reinforcing messages of environmental responsibility and respect for motherhood.

Notable speeches were delivered by DD Srinagar Pradeep Kumar Dr. Syed Tariq, Ms. Preeti Choudhary and Rahi Reyaz Ahmad from Shakti Udghosh Foundation, and other distinguished guests, highlighting the significance of women’s participation in nation-building and youth-led initiatives in Kashmir.
The successful coordination of the welcome event was led by prominent youth leaders including Nazakat Ahmad, Zubair Choudhary, Zahid Hussain, Muzamil Hussain, and Mohammad Yaseen, who ensured active community involvement and local support.
The rally continues to spread messages of patriotism, peace, and progress as it moves forward in remembrance of the brave hearts of Kargil.
