The Kashmir Jurists Bar Association (KJBA) organized a highly successful Safai Abhiyan (Cleanliness Drive) today, in collaboration with the Police Training Station (PTS) Manigam. The initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and civic responsibility, was well-received by the local community and various stakeholders.
The event, which saw active participation from members of the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association, police personnel, and local volunteers, took place at several public spaces in the Manigam region. The participants worked together to clean streets, parks, and other public areas, thereby fostering a sense of community involvement and a shared commitment to a cleaner, healthier environment.
The initiative is a part of the Bar Association’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the welfare of society beyond its legal and professional responsibilities. Speaking at the event, President Kashmir Jurists BarAssociation Adv Altaf Ganderbali & Chief Coordinator Adv Tajamul Choudhary emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental concerns.
“We, as members of this community, must take the responsibility of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. Our collaboration with the Police Training Station Manigam today is a testament to the fact that working together, we can make a significant difference. This Safai Abhiyan is just one step in our ongoing efforts to improve the surroundings we live in,” said Adv AltafGanderbali and Chief Coordinator Adv Tajamul Choudhary.
The Police Training Station Manigam, under the guidance of Principal PTS Manigam Zubair Ahmad Khan SSP , played a crucial role in organizing the logistics and ensuring the safety of all participants. Principal PTS Zubair Ahmad Khan, in their address, noted that cleanliness is not only vital for public health but also for fostering a sense of pride within the community.
“The collaboration between the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association and Police Training Station Manigam is an excellent example of how different sectors of society can come together to make a positive impact. We are proud to stand alongside our colleagues and the local community in making Manigam a cleaner and more beautiful place to live,” stated Zubair Ahmad Khan.
The Safai Abhiyan also included awareness sessions on waste segregation, the importance of recycling, and how every citizen can contribute to reducing pollution. Organizers also distributed educational pamphlets to the public, urging them to adopt cleaner practices in their daily lives.
The event concluded with a pledge taken by all participants to uphold cleanliness in their surroundings and promote sustainable practices within their families and communities. The Kashmir Jurists Bar Association has announced plans to continue organizing similar initiatives in other parts of Kashmir in the coming months.
