A high-level delegation from the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association (KJBA) had a productive meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, Shri Tashi Rabstan, to discuss several crucial issues concerning the legal fraternity in the region. The delegation was led by the President of KJBA, Advocate Altaf Ganderbali, and the Chief Coordinator of KJBA, along with distinguished members, including Advocate Syed Abid and Advocate Ashiq, an Executive Member of KJBA.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted various concerns faced by the legal community, particularly those affecting the working conditions and professional environment of advocates in Jammu and Kashmir. Discussions also focused on ensuring a stronger and more efficient role for the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association in safeguarding the interests of legal professionals while promoting justice and transparency within the region’s judicial framework.

Key points of discussion included the need for enhanced infrastructure and facilities for lawyers, particularly in remote and underserved areas, and the necessity for reforms that would better equip legal professionals to serve the growing demands of justice in the region. The team also emphasized the importance of improving access to justice for the common people, especially in light of recent developments in the legal system.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice, Shri Tashi Rabstan, expressed his appreciation for the proactive role played by the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association in advocating for the rights and welfare of lawyers. He assured the delegation that the judiciary would continue to work closely with the Bar Association to address their concerns and further strengthen the legal system.

Advocate Altaf Ganderbali, the President of KJBA, expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Justice for his time and attention. He assured that KJBA would continue to work towards the betterment of the legal community and the administration of justice in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He also emphasized the need for ongoing collaboration between the Bar Association and the judiciary to ensure a robust, fair, and transparent legal system.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to maintain open channels of communication and collaborate on addressing the challenges faced by the legal fraternity in the region.
