The Meteorological department today forecast light rains, snow and gusty winds over several parts in Kashmir till April 11.

It also predicted improvement in weather conditions across Jammu & Kashmir from April 12.

An official told that the weather will likely be generally cloudy towards afternoon with possibility of light rains, thunder, gusty winds and snow over higher reaches in north and central Kashmir towards April 08 evening and night.

He said from April 09-10 the weather will likely remain generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light rain and snow over higher reaches at many places with possibility of thunderstorm and gusty winds measuring 30-40 KMPH speed at few places.

The official continued that on April 11 there will be generally cloudy with light rain and snow over higher reaches at scattered places towards morning and improvement thereafter.

From April 12-17 the weather across Jammu and Kashmir will likely remain dry, he said.

He added that from April 18-20 there is again a possibility of fresh spell of rain and snow over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir.

The MeT advised travelers, tourists and transporters to follow advisories being issued from administration and traffic department. Besides it advised farmers to suspend farm operations during April 09-10.
