Kupwara : At around 1900 hours, a checkpoint was established at T-Chowk Kuligam by a team from Police Post Khurhama. During checking, a suspicious individual was observed approaching from Khurhama towards Wavoora. On spotting the police party, the individual attempted to flee but was swiftly and tactfully apprehended by the alert personnel.
The individual has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Khan S/O Gh Hassan R/O Dudi Dapal and currently residing at Gagal Lolab. During the search, 72 grams of charas-like substance wrapped in corn husk was recovered from his possession.
Following this recovery, a case under FIR No. 83/2024, U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Lalpora, and further investigation has been initiated to trace the source and network associated with this contraband.
