Continuing its efforts to enhance police-public cooperation and address grassroots-level concerns, Kupwara Police celebrated Thana Divas across the entire district with active participation from citizens and officers alike.
At Police Station Karnah, the event was chaired by Addl. SP Kupwara, Mr. Syed Javaid. A large number of people from various parts of the jurisdiction, especially border villages like Amrohi, Teetwal, and Sadhpora, attended the program. The central focus of the interaction was the growing drug menace in Karnah, with all participants unanimously pledging to work together to eradicate the threat from every corner of the area.
At Awoora, the Thana Divas was chaired by DySP Headquarters, Mr. Mohd Rafee Rather, who delivered an insightful address on various aspects of crime, its genesis, and the key issues confronting both the public and the police. He emphasized the community’s crucial role—particularly parents—in combating drug abuse and other rising social crimes. The gathering was educated on local crime trends and preventive strategies.
At Police Post Hatmulla, the Thana Divas was presided over by DySP DAR, Mr. Gulzar, during which locals highlighted several day-to-day problems and grievances. The officer patiently listened to all concerns and assured participants of timely redressal and appropriate resolution of their issues.
Kupwara Police remains committed to community policing and shall continue to organize such interactive platforms to bridge the gap between the police and the public.
