In a significant development in the ongoing investigation of FIR No. 33/2025 U/S 8/21, 29 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Karnah, Kupwara Police has recovered an additional quantity of narcotics and identified another individual involved in the case.

During the continued investigation on 07-07-2025, police personnel recovered additional amount of heroin-like substance from Amrohi from the residential house of the accused Sideeq Ahmad Chara, son of Mohd Abdullah Chara, resident of Amrohi.

Furthermore, another individual found to be working in active connivance with the already arrested female accused has also been identified as Tanveer Ahmad Bokan, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Bokan, resident of Nachiyaan, Karnah. He has accordingly been booked under Section 29 of the NDPS Act for criminal conspiracy and aiding in the offence.

This recovery and identification of an additional accused further reinforces Kupwara Police’s commitment to its zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and abuse.
