A laborer lost his life, and another was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident in Tullmulla area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal, after a speeding vehicle struck them and fled the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rashid Dar, a resident of Tullmulla, while the injured, Abdul Qayoom, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses reported that a Creta vehicle hit the two victims before speeding away, leaving them severely injured on the roadside. Locals alerted authorities, and both victims were shifted to the hospital, where doctors confirmed Abdul Rashid Dar’s death.
Confirming the incident, a police officer said that an investigation has been started to trace the vehicle and apprehend the driver. Police have registered a case and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused. [KNT]
