Chandigam, Lolab – July 23, 2024: In a significant boost to the agricultural and animal husbandry sector – Sogam Farmers Producer Company Ltd was officially launched in Chandigam, Lolab, yesterday. led by Mr. Muneer Ahmad Najar, Asif Ahmad Dar , Abbas A. Najar along with 60 members are marking a new chapter for local farmers in the region.
The company, promoted by CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, is set to empower small and marginal farmers by providing them with a platform to collectively market their produce, access essential services, and enhance their agricultural practices. The initiative is further supported by the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC), ensuring a robust backing for the enterprise.
During the launch event, Mr. Najar emphasized the importance of collective efforts in the agricultural sector. “This Producer Company is a step towards transforming the agricultural landscape of Lolab. It will enable farmers to achieve better pricing for their produce, reduce dependency on middlemen, and access modern agricultural techniques and services,” he stated.
CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, known for its extensive work in rural development and digital services, aims to integrate technology with traditional farming practices through this initiative. The support from SFAC will ensure that the company receives necessary financial and technical assistance to succeed.
