Leopard Captured Alive in Central Kashmir’s Budgam District

A leopard was captured alive by officials from the Wildlife Department in Kandoora village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday.

According to an official, the leopard was sighted by locals early in the morning. “Residents promptly alerted the Wildlife Department, following which a team was dispatched to the area and a trap was laid,” the official said.

After hours of effort, the animal was successfully tranquilised and captured without any harm.

Wildlife officials said that as soon as they received information about the presence of a leopard roaming in the area, the department acted swiftly. “The team swung into action and succeeded in capturing the leopard alive, ensuring no injuries to people or the animal,” the official added.[KNT]
