Lt Gen P K Mishra GOC 16 Corps! The man has a heart of gold and a vibrant brain which is always ticking as far as the matters of operations go!
Needless to mention he from the Day-I after he took over the White Knigts Corps he has made it clear that he has arrived and he means business!
–Any why not? The man’s legacy is huge!
-One incident while he was on his visit to the LOC an incident caught our attention! The incident goes something like this:
-The man in uniform was riding his vehicle through the winding curves of the roads in the hills and perhaps murmuring a song, ‘country roads take me home’ but he was not home he was heading towards! Pramod. K. was heading to a chain of houses (read bunkers) which are in eyeball to eyeball with men who once loved trading in bullets now the bargaining impact is different, ‘bullets will be met with shells! On his way General PKM (for next few years till he goes on some other assignment we will be calling him by this name)! He stopped on seeing a group of Policemen on Patrolling duties! He stopped the vehicle, met the men in Khakis, had a few great words with them, shook hands and drove off! The Police personnel were overwhelmed and unanimously said, ‘this is what great generals are all about’!
-Small gestures take people a few miles further! The Policemen on duty had realized it there and then!
– Lieutenant General PK Mishra assumed command of the Jammu-based White Knight Corps, relieving Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva. The Corps Commander emphasized maintaining operational excellence and promoting peace and stability, while overseeing the crucial Line of Control from Akhnoor to Poonch and the surrounding hinterlands.
-A recipient of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Yudh Seva Medal (YSM) and Seva Medal (SM), Lt Gen Mishra has succeeded Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, AVSM and SM.
-The Corps Commander urged all ranks to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and continue fostering peace and stability in the region,” the post added. The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army has the responsibility of guarding the strategic and sensitive Line of Control (LoC) — from Akhnoor in Jammu district to Poonch, south of Pir Panjal range — besides looking after the hinterland falling under its jurisdiction.
–Remember what in the headline we had written!
-In Jammu and Kashmir General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Jammu-based White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P. K Mishra, visited Krishna Ghati and Bhimber Gali sectors to review the security situation.
-Senior army officers visited three sectors in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and reviewed the security situation and assessed operational preparedness.
-The GOC visited Nowshera, Krishna Ghati and Bhimber Gali sectors two days after India and Pakistan armies held a brigade commander-level flag meeting along the LoC to discuss border management.
-GOC Strategic Ace of Spades Division, also known as the 25 Infantry division, Major General Kaushik Mukherjee accompanied Lieutenant General Mishra during the visit.
– The GoC lauded the troops for their steadfast professionalism and urged all ranks to uphold the highest standards of readiness and morale in the face of evolving security challenges.
We will tell you a great story of Military Generals:
-General Marcus, a brilliant tactician, was known for his ability to turn seemingly impossible situations into victories. His most famous triumph involved a siege of the seemingly impenetrable fortress of Grimstone. Rather than a frontal assault, which would have resulted in massive casualties, Marcus employed a strategy of psychological warfare. He had his troops construct massive, elaborate siege engines, not to actually use them, but to give the appearance of an overwhelming force. He then sent a single messenger to the fortress, carrying a message that was cleverly worded to suggest an impossible knowledge of the fort’s defenses and a complete disregard for the lives of its defenders. The psychological impact of this message, combined with the imposing spectacle of the siege engines, caused the garrison commander to surrender without a fight. Marcus, ever the pragmatist, then used his forces to rebuild the damaged sections of the fort, turning a potential point of weakness into a symbol of his strategic genius and the futility of resistance against his leadership!
–In all the senses it is the leadership that matters!
– Lt Gen PK Mishra, AVSM, YSM, SM, assumed command of the prestigious White Knight Corps from Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, AVSM, SM, in a formal ceremony. The change of command marks a significant moment for the Corps, which plays a vital role in maintaining peace and security in the Jammu region. Upon assuming charge,
Lt Gen PK Mishra addressed all ranks, urging them to continue upholding the highest standards of operational excellence and remain committed to fostering peace and stability in the region. Lt Gen Mishra brings with him a wealth of operational experience and leadership, having served in various key appointments across diverse terrains.
Under his leadership, the Corps is expected to further strengthen its mission readiness and people-centric approach in the sensitive region. The outgoing Corps Commander, Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, was lauded for his exemplary service and efforts in enhancing the operational capabilities of the Corps during his tenure
–Thereafter this happened:
General Officer Commanding of White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General PK Mishra, visited the forward areas of Naushera sector to assess the security situation in Rajouri. He held a meeting with the officers and issued guidelines.
The 16 Corps Commander interacted with the soldiers at the forward posts in the Naushera sector and tried to boost their morale. He also asked the soldiers to remain alert at all times to thwart any infiltration attempt. After this, he also visited the Corps Battle School where the GOC praised the soldiers for their rigorous training and high standards in anti-terrorist operations.
He saw how the jawans and officers are getting training in the Corps Battle School. The Corps Commander reviewed the situation in the area by holding a meeting with the officers and returned after issuing several guidelines.
All this is a great story but we would prefer to end like this:
A great general is remembered for their strategic brilliance, battlefield prowess, and the impact they had on history. Figures like Alexander the Great, Hannibal Barca, and Subotai are often cited as examples due to their military genius and the vast empires they helped build. Alexander the Great: A Macedonian king, Alexander is renowned for his military campaigns against the Persian Empire and beyond. He never lost a battle, despite often being outnumbered, and his conquests spread Greek culture throughout the Near East. Hannibal Barca: A Carthaginian general, Hannibal is famous for his daring crossing of the Alps with his army to attack Rome during the Second Punic War. He won several major battles against the Romans. Subotai: A Mongol general under Genghis Khan, Subotai led armies across vast distances with speed and maneuverability that were unprecedented for his time. He conquered numerous nations and won countless battles. There are far too many Generals and joining the list is PK. Mishra!
