Man booked for operating radical social media page on Facebook in Bandipora

Police on Saturday arrested one person for operating a radical social media page on Facebook under the name “Kashmir Timer” to disseminate extremist content with the intention to disturb peace.

The said individual through his social media handle was posting misleading content against the security forces and glorifying the Anti National sentiments.

He has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Wani S/o Gh Hassan Wani R/o Bangar Mohalla Hajin, Bandipora.

In this connection Case FIR No.31/2025 under relevant Sections of law was registered in police station Hajin and further investigation started.

Bandipora police is actively monitoring social media platforms to identify individuals engaged in spreading extremist content, inciting violence, or attempting to disrupt public order.

“Any attempt to glorify terrorism, promote secessionist ideologies, or spread misinformation against national integrity will be dealt strictly under the law.”

Bandipora police urges social media users to act responsibly and refrain from activities that violate legal and ethical norms.

“Stringent legal action, including prosecution under relevant laws, will be taken against those found misusing digital platforms for unlawful purposes,”.
