Man killed in scuffle over the installation of power transformer in North Kashmir

A man from Kupwara district was killed in a scuffle over the installation of power transformer in Dohama village of villgam area on Tuesday evening officials said.

News agency quoted an official as saying that the incident took place when a confrontation broke out between two parties over the installation of power transformer-related issue.

SDM Lolab extends Eid Greetings.

He said during the altercation, one person identified as Khazir Mohammad Malik 42 Son of Sonawallah malik, a resident of Dahama, sustained a critical head injury.

He added the injured was immediately rushed to District Hospital Handwara for treatment, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The official said that police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered and efforts are on to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the fatal scuffle.
