SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) on Monday nominated senior party leader Mian Altaf Ahmad Lahrvi as parliamentary candidate for South Kashmir Pir Panjal parliamentary seat.
The announcement was made by party’s vice-president Omar Abdullah in presence of senior party leaders at Nawa-e-Subh Srinagar.
“On behalf of party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah I announce the first candidate of the party for South Kashmir Pir Panjal Parliamentary seat,” Omar Abdullah informed.
He said due to good track record, work culture, public bonding there is no better candidate available for the party for South Kashmir Pir Panjal Parliamentary seat.
He appealed voters to come out of their homes on May 7 to vote in favor of NC candidate with huge majority and provide him an opportunity to represent your whims and aspirations in New Delhi.
The Anantnag constituency, which spreads across the Pir Panjal range and includes Rajouri and Poonch areas after delimitation, will go to polls on May 7 in the third phase. The notification will be issued on April 12 and April 19 will be the last date for filing nominations. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 22.
