Uri, March 15: A one-day awareness program against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was organized under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan by the Department of Social Welfare, Baramulla, at Girls Higher Secondary School Uri.
The event witnessed the participation of 150 attendees, including students, teachers, and officials. The program was graced by SDPO Uri Tariq Ahmad as the chief guest, along with SHO Uri Mudasir Ahmad and Advocate Mumtaz Ahmed Beigh. Tehsil Social Welfare Officer for Uri and Boniyar, Neetu Bali, played a key role in organizing the event.
Speakers emphasized the alarming rise in drug abuse and the importance of collective efforts in curbing the menace. They urged students to act as ambassadors of change and spread awareness in their communities. The event concluded with an interactive session, reinforcing the commitment to a drug-free society.
