Gautam Buddha Nagar, March 21, 2025 – The Nehru Yuva Kendra (My Bharat), operating under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organized a grand “Developed India Youth Parliament” at the Dronacharya Group of Institutions auditorium. The program was inaugurated by MLC Shrichand Sharma by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Young speakers, selected from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Baghpat, and Ghaziabad districts, shared their perspectives on the topic of “One Nation, One Election.” They presented insightful and constructive views on democratic reforms and the future of the country.
Addressing the youth, MLC Shrichand Sharma emphasized the importance of youth participation in making India a developed nation. He stated, “To realize the dream of a developed India, we must take pride in our cultural heritage and work together in national interest.” Encouraging the youth, he added that the “One Nation, One Election” system would reduce election expenses and save time, thereby accelerating developmental projects.
Participants presented compelling arguments on the topic. Shivam from Baghpat stated that implementing the One Nation, One Election system is the need of the hour, as it would allow resources saved from frequent elections to be used in youth skill development, education, and other crucial areas, contributing to a developed India. Enam-ul-Hasan from Baghpat said, “Despite many obstacles, if the country is one, elections should also be one.” Abhinav, Arjun Pratap, Avani Mishra, and Aashi Pandey from Gautam Buddha Nagar highlighted the potential benefits and challenges of the system, stating that it would enhance administrative efficiency and strengthen the economy. Vishal Sirohi, Reshu, and Srishti Pandey from Ghaziabad expressed that “One Nation, One Election” would provide an unprecedented boost to the nation’s development by eliminating unnecessary election-related expenses and saving valuable time.
The jury panel included Dr. Sapna Arya, Director of Prince Institute of Innovative Technology, academician Dr. Satyaveer Singh, senior journalist Thakur Pankaj Singh, Assistant Professor Dr. Deepak Rai, and social activist Parmanand Kaushik. They appreciated the youth’s thoughts and emphasized that platforms like the Youth Parliament strengthen democracy and provide young minds with opportunities to play an active role in policymaking. The event was also attended by Dr. Arpita Gupta, Director of the institution, National Service Scheme Program Officer Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj, who guided and motivated the youth to contribute to the development of India. Social activist Aman Kumar, a recipient of the state’s highest youth award, the Vivekananda Youth Award, also engaged in meaningful discussions with the participants.
Snigdha Singh, District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gautam Buddha Nagar, mentioned that more than 150 participants would take part in the event, out of which 10 would be selected to represent the district at the state-level Youth Parliament in Lucknow. On Friday, 80 participants presented their speeches, while 70 would participate on Saturday. She highlighted that young individuals selected through the “My Bharat Portal” are using this platform to have their ideas included in the policymaking process, which is a significant step in strengthening democracy.
The Developed India Youth Parliament is not only providing young people with an opportunity to think about political and social issues but is also preparing them for future leadership roles. The event also introduced participants to various courses offered by the Dronacharya Group of Institutions, helping them explore new opportunities in education and skill development.
