The Assam Rifles caught on and came out with a massive package for the people. The Assam Rifles stepped in to provide assistance by undertaking a number of small and large infrastructure projects under Op Sadbhavna to ameliorate the condition of the local population like construction of foot bridges, tracks to improve connectivity in rural areas, schools, orphanages, primary health centres, community. It was named as Op SADBHAVANA and the operations under taken played an imp role in negating the influence of insurgent groups where an insidious attempt are made to alienate the common man from the national fabric. The need of the hour was not only complete eradication of insurgency but also to reintegrate the affected populace with the national mainstream. In such a scenario, Assam Rifles was looked upon as one of the government s organization which could provide Score to the people. The focus was on quality education, women and youth empowerment, Infrastructure development , health and veterinary care. Education /motivational tours to expose kids to the rich heritage and progress of India for the students, youth and opinion makers. In addition, basic needs like water supply schemes, electrification of villages, provisioning of toilets in far flung areas were given priority while planning projects based on a participative model involving the local people, their elected representatives and civil administration were also the center of focus. The new kids off the block were swept by the developmental blizzard sprung out by the army and the golden oldies looked with eyes bulging out of their eyeballs and mouths wide open. They had never seen such thing happening in Assam at least down their memory lanes. The efforts continued and the young boys and girls all marched along with the army and many of them made a made themselves heard in the sounds of fury that the competitive world is brimming with. This had been an enthralling journey but then again a deadly enemy in form of the Crimson Contagion descended upon the world and North East too formed a part of the world though a tiny little massive entity. Things did come to a halt but never did the enthusiasm, buzz, chic and craze to get on to a different pedestal stop. The army was there too telling the people little but important tit-bits as regards the invisible virus and what it was capable of doing and helping them to understand the advisories.
The youth today in North East is happy because it has the capacity to see beauty. Beauty in whatever they do to advance to their aim in life. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.’ This is what the Assam Rifles has taught us!
