As the Mr. Jay Shah appointed by the International Cricket Council and Mr. Jay Shah had taken over as the chairman of the ICC. The Asian Cricket lovers had made with full hand of Joice.
It had been noted in his first statement after being elected as the ICC Chairman, Jay Shah expressed, “It is an honour for him to take on the responsibility of the ICC chairmanship, and he is grateful for the support and trust of all the Board Members and Directors.”
On his sit to the chair of the Chairmanship the Asian Countries Cricket Boards and Cricket Lovers that this is an exciting time for sports as they prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and in such a situation, they are trying to make cricket more attractive to fans around the world.
All Cricket Boards showed their excitement and expressed , “It may be recalled that 35-year-old Jay Shah will be the youngest Chairman of the ICC and he was elected to this position unopposed.”
It should be remembered that ICC Chairman Greg Barclay’s tenure has ended. Greg Barclay’s term ended on November 30th. He held the position for two consecutive terms but declined to run for a third term.
Jay Shah, in his view , stressed on working for the betterment of women’s cricket and hoped that we all need to further develop the women’s game.
He said, “There is immense potential for cricket at the global level. I look forward to working with the ICC team and member countries to capitalize on these opportunities and take cricket to new heights.”
Jay Shah has extensive experience in cricket administration. He started his journey with the Gujarat Cricket Association in 2009 and during this time played a major role in building the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.
Jay Shah joined the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2019 and became the youngest secretary.
He has also played an important role as President of the Asian Cricket Council and Chairman of the ICC’s Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee. Ofcourse it is a great and long lasting joy and honour for the all Indians as well as Asians Cricket Lovers.
