In a dynamic and inspiring effort to shape the future of border youth, Romeo Force, a key formation of the Indian Army, has launched an impactful pre-recruitment training initiative across Poonch, Reasi, and Rajouri. The mission, deeply rooted in nation-building and empowerment, particularly focuses on the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities, aiming to prepare young men for recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme and the Territorial Army.
This transformative drive, conducted under the Indian Army’s Civic Action and Outreach Programme, is rewriting the narrative of remote and under-served regions nestled in the Pir Panjal range. With over 1,200 youth already enrolled, the initiative is not merely a recruitment preparation effort—it is a movement of empowerment, discipline, and national pride.
Romeo Force has meticulously designed a comprehensive training module that includes intensive physical conditioning, written exam preparation, general knowledge, reasoning skills, English communication, and personality development. Conducted across more than thirty training locations, the initiative ensures inclusivity by reaching even the most remote villages and providing full administrative support including transport, food, and logistical arrangements.
According to sources, most of the registered aspirants have already undergone significant portions of the training, with visible improvements in both physical aptitude and self-confidence. “Earlier, our youth had no clear direction. Today, they speak of discipline, service, and dreams of wearing the uniform,” said a mother from Draba village, her eyes filled with pride.
At a training site near Thanamandi, elders of the community expressed heartfelt gratitude. “The Romeo Force is training our children like their own. It’s not just training—it’s a life-changing mentorship,” shared a village elder. The camps have become symbols of a brighter tomorrow, as local youth are seen marching with confidence, studying late into the night, and striving with determination.
As this noble mission progresses, the Indian Army, through Romeo Force, is not only building future soldiers but also forging community resilience, national integration, and renewed hope. One young trainee summed it up best at a camp in Parat: “I will wear this uniform one day—for my village, for my people, and for my nation.”
In every step taken, Romeo Force is not just training recruits—it is training leaders of tomorrow.
