The Unprofessionalism of Pakistan Artillery has Come to Fore after the sequence of events in the Operation Sindoor!
-A 155mm Un Exploded Ordnance (UXO) was reported in the Mendhar Sector after the Ceasefire Violations. Indian Army’s Bomb Disposal Team reached to destroy the same in-situ, only to find that the Artillery Shell was with a Plug instead of the Fuse. Fitting of a Fuse on an Artillery Shell is the Most Basic Training imparted to Gunners worldwide as part of their Basic Training.
-This UXO is an apt example of the extremely shallow training standards of the Pakistan Artillery & the false big claims they make in World Forums.
-Indian Army is undertaking relentless operations to destroy these UXOs in various locations of Poonch, Krishna Ghati and Mendhar sector along with Jammu & Kashmir Police to provide safety to the Local Awam. The operations have been executed with strict adherence to safety protocols & minimum risk to human life and property.
-Recent events suggest a pattern of unprofessional conduct attributed to the Pakistan Artillery, particularly in the context of ceasefire violations and cross-border incidents with India.
-These incidents include the use of unexploded ordnance with missing fuses, targeting of civilian infrastructure like schools and medical facilities, and allegations of mutilating Indian soldiers.
Here’s a breakdown of the unprofessional conduct:
-Unexploded Ordnance: A press release highlighted a 155mm artillery shell found with a plug instead of a fuse, an elementary mistake in artillery handling. This was attributed to Pakistan’s “extremely shallow training standards”.
-Targeting Civilian Areas: Indian officials have accused Pakistani forces of deliberately targeting civilian areas, including schools and medical facilities, during ceasefire violations.
-Mutilation Allegations: There are reports of mutilation of Indian soldiers’ bodies, which is condemned as a “cowardly act” and a violation of military conduct.
-Unprofessional Actions: A U.S. General, speaking after India’s Operation Sindoor, praised the Indian Army’s professionalism and criticized the Pakistani Army’s “unprofessional” conduct.
-Targeting Medical Centers and School Premises: Pakistan has been accused of “deplorable and unprofessional” actions by targeting medical centers and school premises at Indian air bases.
-Heavy Artillery Usage: There are reports of Pakistan using heavier artillery during LoC violations, potentially escalating tensions and causing civilian casualties.
-Drone and Heavy Weaponry Use: Pakistan is also accused of using drones and heavy weaponry to attack along the Line of Control (LoC), including attempts at airspace infiltration.
-How many artillery guns does Pakistan have? The Indian Army’s artillery strength was superior to that of Pakistan. Pakistan possessed 800 field artillery guns as opposed to 2,500 field artillery guns by India and 300 medium artillery guns as opposed to 400 medium artillery guns by India.
“Under no circumstances, we target their civilians. We have to retaliate the Pakistan shelling and firing when they prolong it to silence their guns and ensure that there was no infiltration by the militants. But the approach of the Pakistan army is highly `unprofessional’. They have been targeting our civilian areas directly,” !
‘Troops are working in excellent conditions. Their morale is very high despite heavy mortar shelling and firing. Even the morale of the border dwellers is very high. They are putting up in the border areas braving heavy shelling and firing and haven’t migrated despite extreme adverse conditions and six civilian fatalities’!
There are reports of unprofessionalism displayed by the Pakistan Army during Operation Sindoor, specifically regarding the targeting of civilian areas and the use of nuclear threats. These actions are considered a departure from standard military conduct and international norms.
Reports indicate Pakistani forces fired artillery across the Line of Control, hitting schools and a gurudwara in Jammu and Kashmir. This is a violation of the principle of distinction in warfare, which requires military forces to differentiate between military targets and civilian objects.
-Nuclear blackmail: There are claims that Pakistani officials engaged in nuclear threats during the operation, which is considered highly unprofessional and escalatory. This tactic undermines regional stability and international security.
-Backtracking on claims: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister reportedly denied that nuclear weapons were ever considered during the operation, contradicting earlier statements and suggesting an attempt to downplay the gravity of the situation.
These actions, if verified, would demonstrate a disregard for international law and military ethics on the part of the Pakistan Army.
-But Asim Munir has different ideas:
Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir said the Pakistan Army’s standard of professionalism and leadership was par excellence compared to any modern army of the world, However, the Junior leaders of the Pakistan Army have proven their mettle in the fields of training, operations, and world-class competitions across the world”, the COAS said.
The Opening Ceremony of Multinational Special Forces Exercise “Eternal Brotherhood-II” was held at Barotha. Special Forces contingents from Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan are participating in a two-week long exercise, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.
The Army Chief visited Barotha Garrison and interacted with the exercising participants. He was briefed on the scope and conduct of the exercise by the General officer Commanding Special Service Group. The exercise is aimed at further harnessing the historic military-to-military relations among the friendly countries, including nurturing of joint employment concept, while identifying areas of mutual interest for future military collaborations and benefiting from each other’s experience against terrorism.
Prior to visiting Brotha, the COAS also visited Junior Leadership Academy (JLA) Shinkiari, which is the Center of Excellence for training of Non Commissioned Officers. He laid a floral wreath at Yadgar e Shuhada (The Martyrs Monument) and addressed the participants of the Academy.
COAS remarked that “Junior Leaders are the backbone of Pakistan Army and are key to success in Conventional and Unconventional Warfare.” On arrival at JLA and Brotha, COAS was received by Inspector General Training & Evaluation.
Well to be honest none of the professionalism which Munir is hinting at was shown by Pak Army in Operation Sindoor!
