Pahalgam Terror Attack: Indian Navy lieutenant Vinay Narwal’s wife Himanshi Narwal has made a heartfelt appeal, highlighting the importance of not directing anger towards any community. She urged people not to target Muslims or Kashmiris following the Pahalgam attack. Vinay Narwal was among the 26 people, mostly tourists, who were killed by terrorists at Baisaran valley on April 22.
“I just want the entire nation to pray for him, that wherever he is, he remains healthy and happy,” said Himanshi Narwal.
“We don’t want people going against Muslims or Kashmiris. We want peace and only peace. Of course, we want justice,” she said in a video shared by news agency ANI on Thursday.
Lieutenant Narwal was given full military honours at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, where his coffin was received by his family members, political leaders, and Navy officials including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi also paid floral tribute to him.
Vinay and Himanshi got married on April 16, 2025. It was reported that they had gone to Jammu for their honeymoon. “Wherever he is, may he be happy. I will always do the kind of work that he would be proud of me for,” she said while crying.
On April 22, terrorists opened fire at close range on tourists enjoying peaceful moments in the scenic meadows of Baisaran in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack killed 26 people and injured more than 24 others. Among the deceased were two foreign tourists from Israel and Italy, along with other travellers from various Indian states and local residents.
