Panic gripped passengers when a bomb threat call was received for the Delhi-Jammu Tawi Rajdhani Express on Friday at around 9 pm. Following the call, the train was stopped in Haryana’s Sonipat for checking at around 9:35 pm.
A team of bomb disposal squad, sniffer dogs from Rohtak, and police have reached the site and carried out a thorough inspection of the train.
An ambulance, fire brigade, Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and railway officers also reached the site.
Nothing suspicious has been found on the train and all passengers onboard were reported to be safe.
“A call of the bomb in New Delhi-Jammu Tawi Rajdhani Express, which was stopped at Sonipat, turned out to be hoax. The train departed towards the destination at 2 am Saturday after searching by security wings with all passengers safe,” said CPRO Northern Railway.
The train started its journey on its usual time at 8:40 pm from New Delhi railway station and the next stoppage was Ludhiana. As per decided schedule, the train is expected to reach Jammu at 5 am
