The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Baramulla today held a grand function to felicitate the newly appointed Youth District Body of Baramulla. The event, held gracefully at Dak Bungalow Baramulla, was presided over by PDP District President Mohammad Rafique Rather and was graced by the presence of senior party leader, former minister, and North Kashmir Incharge Syed Basharat Bukhari as the chief guest.

The function witnessed enthusiastic participation of party workers and leaders from across the district, including District President of the PDP Women’s Wing Er. Razia Ji, senior leaders Shabir Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Altaf Malik, Prof Mohi ud Din, Javid Ahmad Bhat, Gh Rasool Bhat, Gh.Rasool Malik, Mohd Ashraf Rather, Zubair Rawa, members of the district body, constituency incharges, zonal presidents, block presidents, and numerous party activists. The proceedings of the event were conducted by District Secretary Mr. Javid Bhat.

Speaking on the occasion, District President Mr. Rafique Rather congratulated the newly appointed youth office bearers led by District Youth President Muddasir Shagoo. He impressed upon the youth leaders to remain committed to the party’s ideology, which, he said, forms the very foundation of PDP’s political struggle. Rather called for unity within the ranks and urged the youth body to work in close coordination with the district leadership to revive the lost glory of the party in Baramulla.

“Party discipline is non-negotiable and must be upheld at all levels. No one will be allowed to breach party decisions. It is discipline that makes a political organisation strong and vibrant,” Mr. Rather said. He added that PDP workers must engage with every household to seek their support and strengthen the party base. Emphasizing organizational clarity, he stated unequivocally, “There is only one leader in the party — our President Ms. Mehbooba Mufti. She is the sole authority, and there is no second boss in PDP.”

In his address, Syed Basharat Bukhari, while congratulating the newly inducted youth team, emphasized the need for unity and organizational discipline. In his trademark style, Bukhari reminded the cadre of the party’s roots and purpose. “PDP is the only viable political option that resonates with the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We must reconnect with the people at the grassroots and rebuild the trust that Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had earned through his vision and commitment,” he said.

Bukhari added that the PDP President Ms. Mehbooba Mufti has never deviated from the agenda set forth by her late father. “Despite political challenges and pressures, she has remained steadfast in her commitment to the people and has not compromised on the party’s core principles,” he noted.

On the occasion, Muddasir Shagoo and his entire youth team were warmly felicitated and garlanded by the senior leadership and workers amid applause and slogans echoing support for PDP’s leadership.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge by all participants to work tirelessly for the revival and strengthening of PDP across Baramulla district and to stand united under the leadership of Ms. Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba.
