Additional Spokesperson JK Peoples Democratic Party Mohd Rafique Rather has expressed grave concern over the erratic electric supply in Kashmir and urged upon the government to maintain adequate supply to meet out the requirement in cold weather conditions.

In a statement, Rafique Rather lashed out at erratic electricity supply especially on the onset of winter in Kashmir and said that the intensity of cold in winter months requires uninterrupted electric supply through out Jammu and Kashmir and in particular in the Valley and added that failure of the government to maintain the required power supply need has exposed their tall claims of good administration.

Regular power cuts across Kashmir viz Cities, towns and Villages despite installation of Smart Meters in various areas is complete failure of the department concerned Rather said. And the irony is that LG administration has not fixed responsibility as yet, which shows indifferent attitude of the Present dispensation towards burning issues confronting people of Jammu Kashmir in general.

Rafique Rather said that instead of thrusting smart meters on the public, government should have ensured uninterrupted power supply across J&K both in metered aswell as non -metered areas equally so that people would not face any difficulty during bitting cold of winter season.

Former trade union leader and teacher turned politician Rafique Rather also highlighted the various issues of public importance especially unprecedented inflation which has gone beyond control thus putting people in particular poor class of society in trouble and making them unable to manage day to day affairs of life.
