PM to distribute 51,000 appointment letters virtually today in 16th Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute over 51,000 appointment letters among the youth across the country including Jammu virtually from New Delhi tomorrow and will also address the fresh appointees.

Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh will coordinate the Rozgar Mela while Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industries and Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada will physically handover job letters to the youth at a function in Jammu.

This will be the 16th Rozgar Mela and will be held at 47 locations across the country including Jammu.

Over 51,000 jobs are being given to the youth across Central Government Ministries and Departments. The fresh recruits will physically get the appointment letters tomorrow at functions to be held at 47 places after the Prime Minister’s address to them through video conferencing from New Delhi.

“The new recruits, selected from across the country, will be joining the Ministries of Railways and Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour & Employment among other departments and Ministries, officials told the Excelsior.

The programmes across the country are scheduled at 11 AM tomorrow, the officials said.

“Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfillment of Prime Minister’s commitment to accord highest priority to employment generation. The Rozgar Mela will play a significant role in providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in nation building,” an official statement issued ahead of the function tomorrow, said.

It added that more than 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country.

At all 47 places, as per the sources, the Union Ministers, the concerned Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister, will handover appointment letters to newly recruited youth physically after the Prime Minister’s virtual address to them.

At Jammu, the Members of Parliament, MLAs and senior officers will be present during the Rozgar Mela which will be attended by Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industries, Electronic & Information Technology Jitin Prasada. The Union Minister will also address the youth.

While most of the Ministries and Departments have been covered in over 51,000 jobs being given tomorrow to the youth, the Railways Ministry has the majority appointments, the officials said.

Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will coordinate the Rozgar Mela from New Delhi. He will also address the function.

“The Central Government along with partner State Governments, has continuously been creating new employment opportunities. Special benefits are being given to women, Divyangjans and aspirational candidates from various districts. Appointments are being made through reputed agencies such as UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board and IBPS,” the officials said.

They said there has been a provision for recruitment exams in 13 regional languages to ensure equal opportunities. And more than 1.21 cr Government employees are getting training from 2800 high quality courses available on i-GOT Karamyogi Portal.

They added that the vacancies are being monitored continuously and recruitment process is being undertaken through online system. Further, strict laws have been implemented against paper leaks to ensure transparent recruitment process, they said.
