At around 8:15 PM on 15th January a police team from Police Post Bazaar established a checkpoint at Geerhatchi, Kupwara. During routine checking, a suspicious individual was intercepted. Upon his personal search, approximately 11 grams of heroin-like substance and ₹5,170 in cash were recovered.
The accused, identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Parry S/O Ghulam Hassan Parry R/O Doniwari Lolab, has been arrested and taken into custody.
In this regard case FIR No. 13/2025 has been registered at Police Station Kupwara under relevant sections of NDPS Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
Kupwara Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and urges the public to report any information about drug trafficking or suspicious activities.
