Continuing its war against drugs to eradicate it from the society, Police Handwara has arrested drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police Party of Police Post Langate headed by IC PP Langate established a Naka at Kuhroo Bridge. While checking, one person namely Hilal Ahmad Tantray son of Mohd Yousuf Tantray , resident of Takiya Langate who was trying escape in a suspicious manner, was intercepted. During his search, 55 grams of contraband Charas-like substances has been recovered from his possession. Accordingly, he has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Handwara for further investigation. To this effect, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police station Handwara and investigation set in motion.
Handwara Police urge the common masses that if you notice drug peddling or any other crime happening anywhere in society, feel free to contact the nearest police establishment or dial 112 for prompt police action. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the drug menace from society to give the new generation a sigh of relief from drug hazards.We re-assure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law and up-route the drug slur from the society.
