Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party of Police Post Langate headed by I/C Police Post Langate established a Naka at T Junction Kargam and intercepted one person identified as Javaid Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Ahad Sheikh resident of Hanga Handwara. During search, 7.67 grams of Brown Sugar-like substances has been recovered from his possession. Accordingly he has been arrested and shifted to police station for further investigation. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police station Handwara and investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drug peddling in our society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law and eradicate this menace from the society.
