HANDWARA : Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in handwara and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A team of Handwara Police Led by IC PP Magam established a Naka at T-Chowk Magam, during checking one vehicle bearing Registration number JK01V-3388 which was coming from handwara ,driven by Javid ah Mir S/o Ali Mohd Mir R/o Dardsun Kralpora Kupwara accompanied by Altaf Ahmad Khan S/o Mohd Abdullah Khan R/o Dardpora Kralpora Kupwara, was stopped by police team ,,during their search 06 grams (including packaging) of contraband Heroin like Substance was recovered from Their possession. Both the accused were arrested on spot and the vehicle was also seized
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 173/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Handwara and an investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
