Acting tough against the social crimes, Awantipora police have arrested five gamblers in Pampore and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Pampore, a police party of Police Station Pampore raided the specific spot and arrested the five gamblers. They have been identified as 1) Firdous Ahmad Wani S/O Mohammad Shaban Wani
2) Ab Majeed Wani S/O Ab Aziz Wani R/O Tulbagh Doninad
3) Gh Mohammad Wani S/O Ab Aziz Wani R/O Tulbagh Doninad
4) Mohammad Amin Wani S/O Mohammad Shaban wani R/O Nambalabal
5) Aqib Ahmad Dar S/O Ab Rahman dar R/O Tulbagh pampore
Officers have seized stake money of Rs. 4000/- and playing cards from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 130/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Pampore and further investigation has been initiated.
People found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighborhood with the local police units.
