Police station Awantipora received an information about the illegal trade of the LPG gas in Lethpora area of Police Station Awantipora , accordingly Police team headed by SHO PS Awantipora Dy.SP(P) Shri Aatif Zahoor raided the place were gas tanker was illegally selling LPG gas by filling the cylinder with the gas from the tankers thereby posing a grave threat to public safety due to the highly hazardous nature of the activity.
The LPG Gas tanker was coming from outside the valley and was supposed to dump the tanker filled gas at Gas Bottling Plant Pampore, but instead were illegally selling some quantity of it to some persons.
The accused persons involved in illegal trade has been arrested and identified as :
1) Girdhari Lal S/o Lehar Singh R/o Shamti, Doda
2) Manzoor Ahmad Magray S/o Mohammad Ramzan R/o Lethpora
3) Mohammad Rafeeq S/o Mohammad Hussain R/o Chak Rajpora
LPG gas tanker bearing registration number HR63C-5312 involved in illegal trade has been seized.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 140 /2025 under relevant sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora. Further investigation is going on.
