In a prompt and decisive action, Police Awantipora along with Revenue Department, acting on credible information, destroyed an illegal poppy straw cultivation spread over nearly about 01 kanal of land in Sharshali and Ladhoo . The land is owned by:

1) Nissar Ahmad Sheikh S/o Habibullah Sheikh R/o Sharshali.

2)Fayaz Ahmad S/o Jalaludin Sheikh R/o Sharshalli

3) Manzoor Ahmad S/o Ab. Gaffar Wani R/o Ladhoo have illegally cultivated poppy crops in their respective fields. The illicit crop was destroyed on the spot.

Accordingly, an FIR No. 40/2025 and 41/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khrew .

Police reaffirm its commitment to a drug-free society and urges citizens to report any such illegal activities. Public is also requested to extend cooperation to the Police and come forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighborhood.
