Acting on a specific information about gambling activities at Zoogiyar Sheeri, a police party of PS Sheeri headed by SHO PS Sheeri raided the gambling site and arrested four gamblers. They have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Rehman resident of Pehliharan, Irshad Ahmad Tantray son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Zoogiyar,Reyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Nabi & Gh Nabi Malik son of Ghulam Qadir both residents of Zandfaran Sheeri.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹6020/- and Playing cards from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.4/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated.
People found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
