Authorities in Sogam Kupwara, have seized properties belonging to a Pakistan-based Kashmiri militant handler and top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JUM), at Peer Mohalla, Chandigam, Lolab.
The action taken against the accused identified as Ghulam Rasool Shah alias Rafia Rasool Shah, son of Abdul Jabbar Shah, during which a total of five kanals and 3 marla land was attached, is part of the government’s continued crackdown on individuals involved in militancy and anti-national activities.
Shah, who has been operating from across the border, has been accused of orchestrating and facilitating militant activities in the region for last many years.
The property has been seized under section 25 UA(P)A in case FIR No. 276/2022 under sections 120B, 121A, and 122, 123-IPC, 17, 18, 18A, 18B, 20, 38, 39 and 40 UA(P)A of Police Station Kupwara.
The move to seize Shah’s properties is seen as part of broader efforts to dismantle the logistical and financial networks of militants and their handlers.
