Police Seized 03 Tippers , 01 JCB and Arrested 05 persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Awantipora

In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police Awantipora have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and has seized 03 vehicles & 01 JCB used in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals and Arrested 05 Persons.

Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Dy.SP (P) Atif Zahoor under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora seized three tippers bearing registration numbers JK015-1405, JK13B-0811 & JK04-7922 and 01 JCB without registration numbers.

1) Muzafer Ahmad Shah S/o Ab Hamid Shah R/o Bahoo Awantipora

2)Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Sultan Dar R/o Aghangipora

3) Ubaid Ahmad Dar S/o Farooq Ahmad Dar R/o Aghangipora

4)Abdul Rashid Dar S/o Mohd Jabar Dar R/o Larkipora Padgampora

5) Mehar Ud Din Chachi S/o Ghulam Noorani chachi R/o Dadoo Marhama.

Accordingly, case FIR NO. 108/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.

This proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been actively taken up by all Police Stations of the Police District Awantipora. Police is committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
