President Murmu to visit J&K on Oct 11

President of India Draupadi Murmu, is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on her first tour on October 11th.
As per the reports, President Murmu will be the Chief Guest and shall deliver the 20th Annual Convocation ceremony of the Kashmir University (KU).
“In continuation to our earlier Notification dated 30.08.2023, it is notified for the information of all the students who have registered for the Convocation, that the 20th Annual Convocation shall be held on 11th October 2023 in the Convocation Complex, Main Campus, University of Kashmir, Hazratbal, Srinagar, Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India will be the Chief Guest and shall deliver the Convocation Address,” reads the notice issued by the University of Kashmir.
All the students who have registered for Convocation and have been declared qualified for the award of Ph.D/M.Phil., MD/MS, Diploma in Anaesthesiology/ Ophthalmology and Gynaecology will be presented degrees at the Convocation.
Sources said that tight arrangements are being made for the visit of President of India Draupadi Murmu.
The Convocation will also be attended by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha.
Meanwhile, an official at Kashmir University informed that after the convocation address, the President will honor the meritorious students from the year 2020 onwards. More than 400 students will receive gold medals and MPhil and PhD degrees during the event. The preparations for the ceremony have already commenced.
After the convocation, there are plans for a light and sound show by Dal Lake in her honor in the evening. Later, President Murmu will be hosted by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan Srinagar.
