Jammu: Following strong criticism by BJP spokesperson Dr. Tahir Choudhary over the inaction of the Omar Abdullah-led government in addressing a series of mysterious child deaths in Rajouri, significant steps have been initiated.
In response to the public outcry, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired an emergency meeting with senior officials from the health department and police to expedite the investigation into the tragic loss of young lives.
The meeting was convened after Dr. Choudhary’s press conference, where he slammed the administration for its perceived apathy and demanded immediate action to uncover the cause of the deaths and prevent further casualties.
Dr. Tahir Choudhary welcomed Hon’ble Union Home Minister Sh Amit Shah ji’ decision to form an inter-ministerial team under the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The team will investigate the causes of the fatalities in Rajouri.
He said this development highlights that the BJP government, under Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi ji, is deeply committed to the welfare of the people.
The high-level probe team will include experts from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Ministry of Water Resources. Specialists in animal husbandry, food safety, and forensic science laboratories will also assist in the investigation.l
The team is expected to begin its visit to the affected villages on January 19, 2025. It will collaborate with the local administration to provide immediate relief to the impacted families and implement preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
Dr. Choudhary, while welcoming the government’s response, stated “This is a step in the right direction, but timely implementation is crucial to saving lives and ensuring justice for the families who have suffered.”
The BJP leader assured that his party would closely monitor developments to ensure the investigation is thorough and yields meaningful outcomes.
The affected families in Rajouri now look forward to concrete solutions as the central and state governments take proactive measures to address the crisis.
