Ramadan Moon Not Sighted in India

The Central Hilal Committee of Darul Uloom Deoband has announced that the crescent moon for the Islamic month of Ramadan 1446 AH was not sighted on Friday, February 28, 2025.

In an official statement, the committee confirmed that despite efforts to gather testimonies from different regions, no credible reports of moon sighting were received. As a result, the month of Shaban will complete 30 days, and Ramadan will officially begin on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Muslims across India will observe their first fast on this date. The announcement was signed by the acting Mohtamim (administrator) of Darul Uloom Deoband.
