Handwara – Residents of Bad Chatri Shatgund Bala are facing severe challenges due to the absence of a crucial bridge at Bad Chatri, which once constructed, would connect several neighboring villages. This lack of infrastructure has disrupted the daily routines of residents, making it difficult for them to commute, access essential services such as healthcare and education, and transport goods. The absence of this bridge has significantly impacted their livelihoods.
In response to the growing concerns, MLA Langate, Sheikh Khursheed, has acknowledged the critical need for this bridge and highlighted the ongoing hardships faced by the local community. In a statement, Sheikh Khursheed assured the public that efforts to expedite the construction of the bridge are underway, emphasizing the importance of better connectivity for the region.
The MLA revealed that discussions had been held with the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister and Secretary Bopinder Kumar, and the Finance Department has been consulted regarding the bridge project. In addition to addressing the issues surrounding the Bad Chatri bridge, similar infrastructure concerns regarding the Kharpora, Check Yahama, Reshwari, and Wahipora bridges were raised during these discussions.
Sheikh Khursheed reiterated his commitment to resolving these infrastructure gaps, stating that steps are being taken to ensure improved connectivity for the affected areas. He emphasized that addressing these long-standing issues is essential to improving the quality of life for the residents of these villages.
