The Jammu and Kashmir Government has officially accepted the resignation of Safeena Baig from the post of Chairperson of the Union Territory Haj Committee, with effect from August 24, 2024.
According to an official order, the resignation has been accepted in accordance with Section 24 of the Haj Committee Act, 2002.
The order, signed by Secretary to the Government, confirms the formal acceptance of the resignation months after it was submitted.
Safeena Baig, a prominent political figure, served as the head of the Haj Committee overseeing pilgrim.
