Saudi Arabia has announced that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was sighted on Saturday evening.
The moon-sighting committee convened after Maghrib prayers and verified the sighting of the new moon, marking the end of Ramadan after 29 days of fasting. This aligns with the Islamic tradition of determining the start of a new month through lunar observation.
An official statement from the Royal Court confirmed that today, Saturday is the last day of Ramadan, and tomorrow, Sunday, will be celebrated as Eid Al Ftir across the Kingdom.
Eid prayers will be held early Sunday morning at more than 15,948 mosques and 3,939 open-air prayer grounds across all regions of the country, as families gather to observe one of Islam’s most joyous and spiritually significant occasions.
