Scores of prominent political activists of People’s Confrence hailing from Koota-Satri area of Arin Block joined Apni Party.
The joining ceremony was carried out in presence of the party Vice President Usman Majid and attended by District President Syed Shafat Kazmi, District Youth President Wasif Mir, Zonal President JKAP Gh Hassan Lone, District Youth President ST , Block President ST Arin Bashir Ahmad Khan, BDC Chairperson Arin, Senior Party Members, Liyaqat Nabi, Gawher Hakeem, Mohd Aslam, Mohd Shafi and other functionaries of the party.
Majid while addressing the new entrants urged them to work for the socio-economic and political empowerment of the people with extra zeal and hard work while being accessible to the people in their respective areas. On the occasion Majid asked Party Workers to strengthen the hands of Apni Party in order to ensure overall development Bandipora district.
Reminding the union territory administration of the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on empowering local bodies, Majid said said there is a huge gap between the administration and the common people.
Nobody is listening to the woes of the common man. PRI’s were congratulated by Home Minister of the country but unfortunately on ground they have not been empowered.
And the result is people feel disillusioned and those who were elected feel cheated. And if remedial measures are not taken, people will lose faith in the system of Panchayati Raj, he said. The administration is not paying heed to the PRI’s, despite their elected positions, it is indeed unfortunate, he added
The people of J&K eagerly await a democratically elected Government that will effectively address their pressing pleas at grassroots level. Elections remain crucial for revitalizing the sluggish pace of the developmental works in the region,” Majid said On the sidelines of this function, while pointing to the governance deficit in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged New Delhi to hold assembly polls immediately in Jammu and Kashmir and let democracy flourish in this part of the country. The people of J&K should not be deprived of the rights that are available to the citizens in other parts of the country, he added
