A female student lost her life and 14 others were injured after a college bus of Government Degree College (GDC) Handwara met with an accident in Vodhpora area of Handwara on Saturday.
According to reports, the bus was on its way from Lolab to GDC Handwara when the accident occurred at Vodhpora. The mishap resulted in the death of one girl student on the spot, while 14 others sustained injuries among them three are critical.
A senior official at the hospital said, “One female student has died, three are critically injured, and 11 others are being treated for various injuries.
All the injured students were rushed to the hospital, where doctors are closely monitoring the condition of those critically hurt.
Meanwhile, a police officer confirmed the incident and said that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
