A soldier sustained injuries in a mysterious blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Bagyal Dara area of Poonch district on Monday afternoon, official sources said.
Defense sources informed that the incident occurred while an Army patrol was moving through the area when an unidentified explosive device accidentally detonated.
One soldier was injured in the explosion and was immediately evacuated to a nearby military hospital for treatment.
Authorities have started an investigation to determine the nature of the blast and whether it was caused by an old unexploded ordnance or any other explosive device.
Joint forces have also intensified vigilance in the region following the incident. [KNT]
