Srinagar, Apr 14: Srinagar Police on Monday informed to have set up women help desks in all police stations across the district, in a bid to ensure safety and security of female gender.
“As part of its commitment to effectively curb crimes against women, Srinagar Police has instituted Women Helpdesks in Police Stations and Mobile Women Safety Squad for the protection of girls and women in public spaces with the aim to prevent and eliminate instances of harassment, even-teasing and unsolicited comments in such public spaces,” reads a statement issued to news agency Kashmir Bulletin.
“If any girl or woman faces any kind of harassment, eve-teasing, bullying or unsolicited comments in public spaces, they are encouraged to call or WhatsApp on the following numbers to seek assistance from Srinagar Police for facilitation of prompt and effective real-time resolution of their grievances: Women Helpdesk Helpline: 9596770601 (WhatsApp), 9596770602 (Call), PCR Helpline: 9596222551 and I/C Women Safety Squad : 7006740755,” reads the statement.
“Srinagar Police remains dedicated to serving the public with equity and efficiency,” the statement reads further. (KB)
