Handwara : Senior Superintendent of Police Handwara, Sahil Sarangal (IPS), today chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the District Police Headquarters in Handwara to assess the overall security preparedness in the district.
The meeting was attended by Gazetted Officers of Handwara Police along with SHOs and Duty Officers of all police establishments across the district.
During the meeting, the SSP reviewed several important aspects related to district security, including monitoring of non-local clusters, verification of non-local employees, security of non-local students residing in hostels, registration and investigation under the PIT NDPS Act, identification of security hotspots, social media surveillance and profiling, and safety arrangements at LPG and petrol outlets.
Special focus was also laid on security arrangements in view of the upcoming religious occasions of Jumat-ul-Vida,Shab-e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Navratri. The SSP stressed the need for heightened alertness, foolproof security planning, intensified area domination, and strengthened intelligence-based operations to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations across the district.
