Prominent Sociopolitical figure and thinker Syed Irfan Hashmi has appreciated the authorities in Kashmir for banning the sale of Sharp edged weapons in wake of recent stabbing episodes. He also appealed to youth to shun the path of immorality and waywardness.
Syed Irfan Hashmi affirmed that he is pleased to learn that the Srinagar authorities few days back banned the sale, purchase, and carrying of ‘sharp-edged weapons’ in public places in view of several stabbing incidents in the city.
Sye Irfan Hashmi appreciated that The ban was announced by Srinagar District Magistrate Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
The decision was taken apparently as a result of several recent incidents of stabbings reported from Qamarwari, Bemina, Kralpora, Batmaloo, Nowhatta, Kothibagh, Rambagh, among other places, as reported by the police .
Syed Irfan Hashmi expressed shock that our youth are falling prey to immoral activities and urged the elders to counsel the youth so that Kashmir does not witness further havoc.
He termed the stabbing of any human not just worst human rights violation but an ugly crime that deserves condemnation.
