A TADA court has said ‘no’ to the request for release on bail by about dozen activists belonging to the Hurriyat and JKLF. These activists had been arrested quite recently in a hotel in Srinagar, and they were charged under UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act).
Reports indicate that a specialized TADA court has declined the request for bail made by 10 individuals affiliated with JKLF and Hurriyat. These arrests and charges took place in July of this year after police received credible information suggesting that some former members of JKLF and previous separatists were meeting in a hotel in Srinagar.
Upon their arrest, they were taken to Kothibagh Police Station for further investigation. An inquiry has been initiated, and it appears that they were allegedly planning to revive JKLF and Hurriyat,” a police spokesperson stated at the time. (Greater Kashmir)
