Srinagar : Senior National Conference leader, Mubarak Gul on Saturday expressed happiness for being appointed as pro-tem speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly.

Speaking with reporters, Gul as per the news agency said that hardly a few people get this opportunity. “I am thankful to Almighty for giving me such an opportunity.”

He said that the political agenda of the party will be pursued while the government will work towards ensuring better day-to-day facilities to people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha administered oath of office to Mubarak Gul, who won the assembly election from Eidgah constituency, as pro-tem speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly.

He was administered the oath of office during a ceremony at Raj Bhawan. Gul was appointed as pro-tem speaker of Jammu and Kashmir assembly on Friday—(KNO)
