Theft case solved in Samba; five accused arrested, stolen items recovered

Police has solved a theft case registered at Police Station Samba, arrested five accused and recovered stolen items worth rupees two lakhs approximately from their possession.

On 02-01-2025, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Samba by one Rakesh Kumar S/O Bishan Dass R/O Deon Tehsil Bari Brahmana, serving in District Court Samba, regarding theft of items including water taps and electrical wires from Judicial Quarters, District Court Complex Samba.

Acting upon the complaint, a case FIR No. 02/2025 U/S 331(4)/ 305 BNS was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.

During the course of investigation, a Police team headed by SHO PS Samba under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba after relentless efforts succeeded in arresting the five accused persons who upon sustained questioning confessed their involvement in the instant case.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sunil Kumar S/o Hari Kumar R/o Muradhawad (UP) A/P Shiv Nagar Vijaypur, Ganesh Kumar S/o Janak Raj R/o Vijaypur, Mohd Maqbool S/o Mohd Ibrahim Das R/o Bandipura A/P Vijaypur, Karan Lal S/o Mohan Lal R/o Shiv Nagar Vijaypur and Vishavjeet Dass S/o Gurdass R/o Gali Hukam Gate Amritsar A/P Shiv Nagar Vijaypur.

Further on the disclosure of said accused, stolen items were recovered from their possession. Investigation of the case is still going on.
